5 Youngest Mothers ever in History

There have been many women in history that have become mothers at a very young age. This list features the youngest mothers ever recorded and recognized by Guinness World Records through recorded birth or other documents. The list is composed of girls under the age of 20 who conceived, delivered, and gave birth to a child. A woman has to be at least 18 years old to receive parental benefits from the Social Security Administration (SSA) for her baby in the United States. When they reach 19, those women may qualify for supplemental security income (SSI). For most states, you can’t get married without your parent’s consent until you’re 18 and some states set the minimum marriage age even higher.

1. Lina Medina, 5 years old

Lina Maria Medinaceli was born September 27, 1933 in Ticrapo, Huancavelica Region , Peru. She is the oldest of seven children of Jacobo and Victoria Medinaceli . Her father was a native Indian peasant farmer and her mother was a servant in the Medinaceli household. When she was five years old (on May 1, 1939) an abdominal swelling began to grow at an alarming rate. At first, the family thought that Lina had a tumor or some other disease that would soon pass. Physicians who examined Lina were shocked by her precocious sexual development including primary amenorrhea , breast development , quickened heart-rate , absent pubic hair , enlarged external genitalia and advanced bone age .

Lina Medina was brought to a hospital where medical practitioners determined that she had been sexually active with her father (who is now thought as probable sexual predator). The pregnancy of Lina Medina was full term and resulted in a live birth via caesarean section on May 14, 1939 by Drs. Lozada and Parinacocha.

2. Elizabeth Thomas, 8 years old

Elizabeth Thomas (born c. 1836) became one of Scotland’s youngest mothers after giving birth at the age of 13 or 14 (sources disagree on both the exact age and the month). Her son weighed 7.5 lb (3.4 kg) and was named John Thom(p)son, after his father, a 22-year-old Irish labourer called John Thomson . Shortly after giving birth, Elizabeth married her unnamed husband. She lived in Callander , central Scotland for most of her life and died just before reaching 100 years old.

3. Mum-Zi , 9 years old

Mum-Zi is a member of the Efik tribe of southern Nigeria . She became pregnant at an unknown date in or around December 1884 by Chief Akkiri , ruler of Old Calabar , who was also known as Akassa . Because tradition required that the chief marry a princess, Mum-Zi was “married” to Akkiri and was made queen of Old Calabar. After an investigation prompted by missionaries , she was ordered put to death in February 1885.

4. Parvati , 10 years old

Parvati (born c. 1876) was a young girl who lived in Nepal . She gave birth to a son, Kishore , when she was just 8 or 9 years old. The father is said to be Hari Mohan Singh , aged 30 at the time of conception and who later became prime minister of Nepal . He admitted his guilt but declared that he intended no harm to the girl, his daughter-in-law according to Nepalese law. He stated that he had taken her as his wife without properly understanding the nature of marriage, saying “I have committed rape upon a girl not knowing whether it is rape or not.”

5. Hilda Trueman, 11 years old

Hilda Trueman (born c. 1953) was a resident of Rotherham , South Yorkshire . In December 1973, when she was just 10 years old, her family noticed that the girl had started to put on weight and her breasts were developing. The next year, Hilda gave birth to a daughter at Doncaster Royal Infirmary . This was later confirmed by DNA testing and paternity tests and placed in the hands of social services who monitored the child’s development. After 14 months in foster care, Hilda’s daughter went to live with relatives of Hilda.


Although teenage pregnancies and teen age motherhood can prove to be a complex problem for any girls mostly it happened due to forcefully not as a choice at that girls are not in a sense to give birth or to manage a child to do a job to grow up their baby because it her own age as a dependent on her family so it is necessary to be take serious action to stop this and made serious rules and regulations to warn people such an abusive act.
