Act-Age is a Japanese comic series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Matsuki. It originally was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from January 2021 to May 2021, with each of its chapters released as a tankobon volume. The series has been highly popular with both male and female readers.
The first part of the series was released in February 2021. The second part of the series, however, was not released until July at the earliest. This is because the second half deals with the battle between Gingka Utsuri, and what affect the two have on the future of the manga. In the second part, two new characters, Takeda Tomago and Rihoko Kuchiki, join the battle. Both are from the anime series Gingka.
Act-Age is an action/adventure psychological series. It is set in Tokyo in the year twenty years ago, during the World War II. At that time, Japan was divided into two zones, the Occupied Eastern Areas and the Zone of Neutrality. The story revolves around the daily life of two high school students, Shusui Yezza and Yuma Setsuna, who lives in the former zone, and Isabella Olleria and Setsuna Komatsu, who lives in the latter. As they gain access to the classifieds of the Zorya Unit, they come across a mysterious man with the power to read minds, called the Eye of Twilight.
Currently, Act-Age has twelve volumes that have been released in Japan, Korea, United States, and Australia. It was later turned into a movie, which was released in late 2021. The movie adaptation took the story to the next level, incorporating modern day Japan and bringing in other characters such as China. In the movie, the evil entity named Twilight is trapped within the body of an ordinary girl named Yuuka Aizawa, who tries to free herself from its clutches by joining the Zorya Unit. As she does, Yuuka also comes into contact with the male member of the Twilight club named Tazuna.
The main character of the story, Shusui Yezza, is depicted as a fourteen-year-old who lives in the countryside. However, we know that she is only in her early twenties when the series was created. We also know that she is the acting division leader of the Zorya unit. In the first few volumes, we get to know more about her childhood and her family background, including her father’s shady past.
Popular TV Series Shusui Facts
As the story unfolds, we find out that Shusui has been tasked to act as the Zorya representative on a newly established international children’s talent show called the Act-Ages in Tokyo. The first volume depicts her joyous as well as nervous experience of attending the audition. Her performance is one of the most praised ones in the audition. In the second act-age volume, we also learn about the inner struggles that she goes through before she is finally allowed to audition. It is then revealed that her shyness is actually one of her talents and that she was chosen as one of the act-ages to represent Japan.
However, her shyness is not as easy to deal with as it seems. She goes through a lot of emotional and mental hardships before being finally able to come out of her shell and perform well. This is the main reason why fans wait for the act-age volume 1 release date to be released so that they can watch the character Shusui in all her awkward moments. In the act-age volume 1 preview, we see that the new series will have its own star joining the cast. This will be Yuuka Aoki as Hyoudou Shimada, the current acting coach of the original cast of the series.
Both Shusui and Hyoudou Shimada are seen as two of the main female characters in the manga series. Shusui is the main hero of the manga series, while Hyoudou is the hot-tempered yet lovable coach of the school, who is seen as the opposite of Shusui. The original Japanese cast of the anime have also confirmed their involvement with the new series. They will be appearing in an episode that will air during the August 2021 summertime. The official website for the August 2021 anime project has already posted several pictures of the main cast of the upcoming act-age game.
