A boy sitting in front of a laptop

Because good parenting advice is so important for all parent yet the parent’s time to get the information they require can be limited. That’s why today, I have taken the time to list and provide short reviews of the books I really believe will be worth the read. They serve as great reads as they are easy to understand and written in a style of conversational with real-life examples and occasional humor to present a balanced perspective. You will find that they become excellent references that you will frequently refer to for encouragement and problem-solving tips. Today I’ll share some book for child development.

A little boy sitting on a bed

The “Ages and stages” is the beautiful creation of Charles E. Schaefer, Theresa Foy DiGeronimo. If you go really want a child development book, then you may go for this book. In this book, the author describes the useful tips and techniques by most current analysis on child development. It is also based on the practical style, so you may follow the advice mention here.

Brain Rules For Babies:

By John Medina, Composed by a respected scientist who is also a parent, this book shares practical advice on helping your child feel safe and developing age-appropriate self-confidence and skills, to name a few. Moreover, despite being a “developmental molecular biologist” by trade, Medina is a refreshingly savvy writer, opting to avoid much of the jargon that would make the book impassable for the untrained layman like me. However, the book is divided into five clear, topical sections: –

Pregnancy (how to support your baby grow while in utero)

Relationship (how to avoid the relationship traps many couples experience postpartum)

Smart Baby (how you can optimize your child’s brain intelligence and development)

Happy Baby (how you can raise a happy, well-balanced baby)

Moral Baby (how to support your baby develop and nurture their moral compass)

Natureshock

By Po Bronson, Ashley Merryman The best selling book based on sound child development research, this book is “one of the most inspiring books about children ever published. However, nurture Shock provides a revolutionary new perspective on children that upends a library’s worth of conventional wisdom. Moreover, with impeccable storytelling and razor-sharp analysis, the authors demonstrate that many of modern society’s strategies for nurturing children are backfiring–because key twists in the science have been overlooked. Nothing like a parenting manual, NurtureShock gets to the core of how we grow, learn and live” (publisher review).

Your Child’s Growing Mind

By Jane Healy, This recently updated classic provides a window into the fascinating process of brain development and learning. It looks at the roots of intelligence, emotion, and creativity, translating the most current scientific research into practical suggestions for parents and teachers.
